The change in the air pretty much insists that we start getting ready for the Holidays. 44 Luxury Furniture Brands That Are Interior Designer-Approved You'll find everything you need here. By Jessica Cherner Published: May 8, 2025 Bassett When Bassett was founded in 1902, most furniture designers were, for the most part, cabinet makers, and Bassett was no different. The early 20th century experienced a massive boom in growth, so there was an urgent need to supply furniture to all of the new houses, tenements, and more across the country. Now, you won’t find any cabinets with the Bassett stamp, but rather, an array of hand-crafted furniture that reflects the brand’s humble beginnings. Though highly traditional and without a lot of ornamentation, Bassett’s pieces are nostalgic in all the right ways, boasting a very subtle hint at Americana vibes. On this day in 2001, the Leaning Tower of Piza was reopened after being closed for almost ten years due to repairs. It was seen as a monumetal task until one excellent brain had the idea to tell people not to stand on only one side at a time and, voila. Fixed. Do you ever walk into a room and start to think about making changes? And the more you think, the more frustrated you become and then you walk out of the room and move onto something else? Sort of like the Leaning Tower, maybe what you need is a fresh pair of eyes (and ears) to sit with you and discuss changes in a relaxed manner. Bassett King of Prussia has a team of highly qualified and experienced Designers who can take the stress out of the most small or large project and make it, well...fun. Indoor, outdoor and combining both is what we do best. Stop in, call or email me to make an initial appointment. Leaning towards peace of mind, a new and improved space and a fresh lease on life. On this day in 1953, Ray Bradbury's dystopian novel "Farenheit 451" was published. If you take a thin piece of paper and attempt to burn it, it will start to smoulder and then flame at 451 degrees. Ironically, this novel is on a hit list of books that have currently been banned in some places. Another aspect of irony is that, when books are banned, it usually "ignites" peoples interest in reading something that they perhaps never would have read prior to being told that they couldn't. (irony...a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result.) Now, let's play irony in Interior design. Many think that if you have a big space you need to cover every square inch. Or in the reverse, a smaller space needs few items. But it's really fine to design a large space in a sparse manner, and crowd a smaller footprint to create a coze sense of excitement. Isn't that ironic? How about keeping t...

Leather Furniture and its benefits. I am featuring leather upholstery today because we are preparing to have a major sale on all leather stationary and motion upholstery. Although leather costs more than most upholstery fabric, there are many benefits to selecting leather pieces for your home or office.Firstly, leather looks great and usually outlasts upholstery fabric 4 to 1, making leather an excellent choice for families with children animals, etc. Leather actually becomes stronger over time. Specially died leathers keep their richness and brightness because the color is absorbed into the material. Easy to clean, leather only needs a soft cloth to wipe off dust and maybe vaccuum once in a while. As supple and attractive as leather is, it nonverbally invites visitors to sit and enjoy its comfort. Almost like an "old school" memory foam gel mattress, leather breathes so it quickly adjusts to body temperature. Like you and I, leather ages well as it becomes softer and more su...

Good day. Sherwin Williams color forecast is really interesting this morning. Aside from featuring my "go to green" aka "Leapfrog", they have posted an organic page of greens and blues that I need to share. Although Farrow & Ball is normally my favorite company because of their uniquoe palette, SW really hit it out of the park IMHO with this color key. Please keep me in mind for any and all Interior design projects, including the great outdoors. I can be reached my email at JPClarey@Bassettfurniture.com or by phone at 610-337-1249. Have a good day.
