Image
Winter in Chester County, PA can be an interesting place. One day we are in the negative temperatures and then we hit a balmy 54 degrees. Whether you weather the Winter here or someplace warmer you can always count on Bassett to keep you in the style loop. We just received and have on display many new fabrics and leathers for your upholstery needs. Our Lane Venture Outdoor Lifestyles have also been refreshed with new finishes and fabrics. Definitely make a point of stopping in to see what's new here and new for your home and office. Ask for me, Jim. 610-337-1249 JPClarey@BassettFurniture.Com

History and Holidays.

I may be the only one who tends to hit the rewind button this time of year, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I am not alone. I very recently learned that my only child/adopted Mom had an older brother three years her senior and probably never knew that he existed. Even more illuminating, he and his mother (who would have been my grandmother) lived less than ten minutes away from me in my twenties and early thirties. I wish that I could find photos because there's a good chance that I cut one or both of them off in the grocery store line or in busy traffic. Bassett Furniture has been around since 1902 and has kept with the times throughout its' history. Quality, variety and a strong reputation are the main part of our success. Whatever Holiday you celebrate, please keep in mind that we are all in this together. I enjoy working her because of the aforementioned stats and also because virtually all walks of life stop into the King of Prussia location. We invite you to do the s...

Am I Blue?

Image
As with most colors in color theory, the color blue has both positive and negative connections. With a sense of calm, relaxation, trust, loyalty and authority, the positive highlights convey a sense of honesty, commitment, serenity and peace. The negative effects of blue convey fragility, depression, predictability and even coldness. In design, the exact shade of blue you select will have a huge impact on how your designs are perceived. Light blues are often relaxed and calming. Bright blues can be energizing and refreshing. Dark blues, like navy, are excellent for corporate sites or designs where strength and reliability are important. Bassett has just introduced many new, durable and attractive fabrics for our upholstery lines as well as a soft, almost suede-like blue leather called Sophia which lends itself to both calming and dominant color palettes. Bassett Dining. Reflecting Maple, Oak, Cherry and you.

Image
Here is a fun (?) fact. Ask any Historian and he/she will tell you that the ancient Greeks were the first to designate a specific area for feasting. Back then only men were allowed access to the wood or stone benches where honey cakes and nuts were served, while women stood and young men found a spot on the ground. My, how times have changed. For a while, a more relaxed living style seemed to take away the need for a true Dining Room as people gravitated to kitchen islands and sitting comfortably in the Family or Great room, eating while watching television. Today, dining rooms are making a resurgence in interior design as homeowners seek to create an inviting atmosphere for their friends and family. Please know that Bassett is right with you. Mostly solid woods, performance fabrics and leathers and newly styled upholstered chairs with casters for easy movement will make your design experience easy, attractive and functional. Bring in your room size and a few inspiratio...
