Happy Day everyone. Dating back to the 1930s, the Farmers' Almanac began publishing what it said were Native American names for each full moon and the names have stood the test of time. On January 13th, this particular full moon is called the Wolf Moon due to the "packs of wolves heard howling outside the villages amid the cold and deep snows of winter," according to NASA. Halloween's origins can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. The Celts believed that the boundary between the living and the dead was at its thinnest on the night of Samhain , and that the spirits of the dead would return to earth. To symbolize the end of the harvest, they included apples, pumpkins, or other fall crops. Hallowe'en also marked the end of Summer and the beginning of Winter, but here in Chester County, PA it is sunny and 82 degrees. It also marked the end of Harvest, but I have to say- The grocery store was packed! As with most colors in color theory, the color blue has both positive and negative connections.
