Sometimes simple is best.

There are many styles when discussing Interior Design. A recent trend has been simple, clean modern farmhouse design. Clean, crisp drapery side panels, minimal lines on furniture frames and less layering when applying accessories. On this day in 1911, Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, the Mona Lisa, was stolen from the Louvre in Paris and remained missing for almost two years. I would have helped the authorities to find this treasure, but was only seven years old and not aloud outside past my bedtime. This still ranks as one of the biggest art heists of the 20th century. One of the reasons that the Mona Lisa remains such a classic work of art is the " sometimes simple is best " approach taken by Leo. In comparison to many contemporary images of the elite, this portrait is stripped of the usual trappings of high status or any hints to the sitter's dynastic heritage. All attention is thus drawn to her face, and that enigmatic expression. (Mona Lisa's real name was Lisa del Giocondo and was born into an aristocratic family.) Now I will segue into Bassett and how we can bring a simple, classic look to your home or office combining furniture, accessories, area rugs and window treatments for those who want a "simple is best" design experience. I can also do multi layered, extremely ambitions designs but let's leave that for another post. Our current sale is 30% off of everything with the exception of our "Everyday Value" items. We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Jim Clarey JPClarey@BassettFurniture.Com 610-337-1249 Appointments are preferred.

Black Friday, Bassett and crowds.

"Black friday" is now commonly known as the day after Thanksgiving, as far as shopping is concerned. This moniker began in the 1950's specifically referring to how the Police complained about the influx of people coming to the city to shop. It has also been said that the success of customer purchasing on Black Friday meant that retailers could happily record sales numbers in black ink and move away from the red ink, indicating losses in revenue. Ok, so now let's move onto Bassett, Black Friday and crowds. Our "Black Friday" sale is in full motion NOW. This means that you can stop in on any day of the week, meet with a Designer, (hopefully me) and make decisions involving your indoor and outdoor home furnishing needs in a relaxed, stress free enviornment. Walk-ins are welcome, but I personally prefer having you make an appointment. That way we aren't interrupted and our train of thought doesn't derail. Our sale is 30% off across the board, with the exception of anything labelled "Everyday Value." I can be contacted by email at JPClarey@BassettFurniture.Com or by phone at 610-337-1249. Please bring measurements and inspiration pictures as well as the arm cover of a chair that you plan on keeping...and so on. I hope to hear from you soon. Take advantage of our Interest Free Financing too.
