History and Holidays.

I may be the only one who tends to hit the rewind button this time of year, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I am not alone. I very recently learned that my only child/adopted Mom had an older brother three years her senior and probably never knew that he existed. Even more illuminating, he and his mother (who would have been my grandmother) lived less than ten minutes away from me in my twenties and early thirties. I wish that I could find photos because there's a good chance that I cut one or both of them off in the grocery store line or in busy traffic. Bassett Furniture has been around since 1902 and has kept with the times throughout its' history. Quality, variety and a strong reputation are the main part of our success. Whatever Holiday you celebrate, please keep in mind that we are all in this together. I enjoy working her because of the aforementioned stats and also because virtually all walks of life stop into the King of Prussia location. We invite you to do the same. Christmas in Germany is celebrated with Advent calendars and festive markets featuring mulled wine and gingerbread. Diwali in India Light the oil lamps and fireworks to celebrate victory over darkness. Hanukkah in Israel is observed with the Festival of Lights. Lunar New Year in China: Welcome the new year with family reunions, dragon dances, and red envelopes filled with money. Oktoberfest in Germany: Enjoy beer, traditional foods, and lively music at this famous folk festival. Day of the Dead in Mexico: Honor deceased loved ones with altars, marigolds, and sugar skulls during this vibrant celebration. Of course, all of these celebrations can be enjoyed in our very own homes, so make sure to have a great season, embrace our differences and don't forget the eggnog.
