Am I Blue?
As with most colors in color theory, the color blue has both positive and negative connections. With a sense of calm, relaxation, trust, loyalty and authority, the positive highlights convey a sense of honesty, commitment, serenity and peace. The negative effects of blue convey fragility, depression, predictability and even coldness.
In design, the exact shade of blue you select will have a huge impact on how your designs are perceived. Light blues are often relaxed and calming. Bright blues can be energizing and refreshing. Dark blues, like navy, are excellent for corporate sites or designs where strength and reliability are important.
Bassett has just introduced many new, durable and attractive fabrics for our upholstery lines as well as a soft, almost suede-like blue leather called Sophia which lends itself to both calming and dominant color palettes.
