Hallowe'en, Origins and Bassett-Oh, my!

Halloween's origins can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. The Celts believed that the boundary between the living and the dead was at its thinnest on the night of Samhain, and that the spirits of the dead would return to earth. To symbolize the end of the harvest, they included apples, pumpkins, or other fall crops. Hallowe'en also marked the end of Summer and the beginning of Winter, but here in Chester County, PA it is sunny and 82 degrees. It also marked the end of Harvest, but I have to say- The grocery store was packed! Today/this evening may not be the perfect time to visit Bassett King of Prussia and make your home furnishing selections ( even tho' our current Sale is mostly better than 30$ off ) but there is (usually) always tomorrow. Unless, well... let's not go there. This sale ends Sunday, 11/3/2024. So, Happy Dia de las Brujas
